Who Can Apply

As a tuition-free, open-enrollment public charter school, The Texas Girls School welcomes all eligible students at no cost to families.

Enrollment Timeline

Submit your application during open enrollment. Applying early ensures you receive important updates, event invitations, and next steps as they happen.

Applying after March 4? We encourage families to apply anyway. Seats may become available, and waitlist offers are made as space opens throughout the spring and summer.

If applications exceed available seats, a lottery is held in accordance with Texas charter school guidelines. Families are notified promptly with offer or waitlist information.

“What If We’re Waitlisted?” If your child is placed on the waitlist, you’ll receive updates as seats become available. Many families are offered seats later in the spring or summer, so we encourage you to stay engaged and attend events when possible.

Families who are offered a seat complete registration. This is also the best time to attend information sessions, schedule a tour, and get to know the school community.

Students and families are invited to orientation and back-to-school events designed to help everyone feel confident and connected before the year begins.

The school year begins—and students start their journey at The Texas Girls School.

What Happens After You Apply?

After you submit your application, you’ll receive a confirmation email with next steps and key dates. Throughout the enrollment period, we’ll share updates about offers, waitlists (if needed), and opportunities to connect.

If seats are available, families receive an offer of enrollment. If applications exceed capacity, students are placed on a waitlist, and offers are made as space becomes available. Families are encouraged to attend tours and information sessions at any point in the process.
