SUPERINTENDENT
DANA STUART BROWNING
MEET OUR TEAM
Hello, and welcome! I am so glad you are here to learn more about our leadership team!

A little about me, in addition to being a mother of two girls and two boys (three currently in college and one in an Austin ISD School), I am a lifelong Texan and career educator. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Geography. Since then, I have spent the last two decades in education, and beyond classroom teaching, I have accumulated extensive experience as a curriculum writer, an Instructional Coordinator, a College Board Advanced Placement (AP) Grader and Instructor, and a Certified Texas Principal.

My career highlights include being selected as a Texas Charter Schools Fellow in the TEA Charter School Incubator Project, serving as a Leader in Residence at the Meridian World School, and leading as a Learning Specialist at the University of Texas at Austin, where I developed online educational courses and content for over 3,000 students from more than 100 countries while managing a body of adjunct Social Studies instructors.

I raised my children and worked most of my career in Lake Travis ISD. In my free time, I have served on the board of directors and also founded a 501C3 that worked to improve education and clean water access in Tanzania, Africa. I enjoy writing (my son and I published Adventures in Big Bend National Park during the pandemic), yoga, traveling the world (I've been to over 40 countries), and exploring science in the field through museums and state, local, and national parks. I am committed to elevating Texas teaching professionals and promoting Texas' future women's roles in the global economy while encouraging all students and people to reach their highest potential. Thank you for being here, and please join our mailing list to stay in touch!
